I might be sharing information already known but I just had a call with Sage PR support to ask about the new PR keys because we still felt like the information from Sage was vague. Per Sage, the new keys are required for all supported versions not just 2016. When I asked if they had to be installed for IRD's, TTUs, changes with AAtrix, they stammered a bit and said it was their understanding ""that they are required to get everything aligned for support and updates into the system."" When I pressed further to confirm that they were not saying that they had to be installed for YE functionality but rather for at some point Sage pushing automatic updates, they said yes that is their understanding. I followed by asking what impact the new keys would have on clients with 3rd party add-ons, especially those tied to existing keys and they didn't know but assumed there would not be an issue.
I'd like to know if anyone is going to actively start updating keys and if any of our 3rd party vendors out there can chime in on how this might impact their products when changing registration codes, DSD in particular.
