I know we've beaten this to death but ... customer trying to access MAS data via the 32-bit odbc driver on a 64-bit system. Is there a way to query the data in Excel on their 64-bit systems?

To clarify, the issue is that Excel is 64 bit? Not that WIN 7 is 64 OS. If so, keep beating the horse if it makes you feel good. I don't think there is a remedy yet. Maybe this is what they were referring to regarding enhancements to the 64 bit in the partner update earlier this week.

You can access MAS data if you are using the 32-bit version of Office, even on a 64 bit version of Windows. The application needs to be 32 bit.

    Install Excel 32 bit.

Aside from making this a reason to stay on maintenance for years to come. are there any technical issues that would prevent them from making this backwards compatible to v4.3? Especially for v4.5 and v4.4. Who could we push for an earlier release of this? Surely, they have it working now!!!!!!

Jeff, you must be an eternal optimist or you're taking too many happy pills.

Living in the Shenendoah (AKA Happy) Valley is a natural high. Last Sunday, I was on a two lane headed up the mountain when I had to stop for a bear cub walking across.the road. He/she took off before I could snap a pic. I am just a big believer in adding value to the bottom line. This is an excellent opportunity to create goodwill. Perhaps I should just buy a Powerball ticket. My chance to win that is probably greater!!!!

The (good) news is the 64 bit ODBC driver will be available as an optional install on Sage 100 2013.

Any idea if this is going to be backwards compatible?

Good question @JeffSchwenk i was wondering the same thing. My guess is that it will be but I guess we'll see. BTW, Jeff didn't you install a beta of 2013? I wonder if the odbc driver is somewhere in the beta install.

It may have been @JimWoodhead that i saw a post about installing it. Jim, any idea if the beta includes a 64-bit odbc driver?

They both posted about it. I have it but haven't installed it yet.

It might. I only have a 32 bit machine so I will don't I would Not see it. My guess is that it is on the 2013 beta.

Beta isn't out yet, just the raw early bird alpha release. I would test, but I only have 64 bit versions of WIN 7. You need the 64 bit version of Office to test properly.

MAS 200, 4.40.0.3 Would it surprise anyone if one computer with 64-bit Excel works fine with pulling data into Excel (Data Query) but another computer with 64-bit Excel can't (i.e., after prompting for the MAS connection, instead of popping the MS Query wizard, it pops the MSQuery app and hangs until you kill the MSQuery process)? Is the only viable option to drop that computer down to Excel 32-bit?

Today 32-bit Excel is the best option.

The ODBC issue was one reason that my new laptop has 16GB of RAM, two hard drives and VMWare Workstation. Having Windows 7 (32 bit and 64 bit), Windows XP, Windows 8 and Windows Server 2008 virtual machines at my finger tips makes things easier. Particularly with the limitation of one install of Sage 100 per machine.

Just found out that Excel is 32-bit but the computer is 64-bit. So now I'm not sure why they're having this issue: after prompting for the MAS connection, instead of popping the MS Query wizard, it pops the MSQuery app and hangs until you kill the MSQuery process)

Might try...windows\SYSWOW64\ODBCad32.exe and setup a new DSN for MAS and see if you can reach it from MS Query in Excel.
