I know Sage has always had a professional services group for MAS500. Interesting that it's semi-prominent on the SageMAS page.

Funny the SageMAS page came up in conversation yesterday. Someone went to it and saw that there was Project Accounting for SageMAS and assumed it was available for MAS 90. We were told (at the ""Listening Tour"" in NY a year ago) that MAS 500 was not necessarly the best upgrade path for MAS 90/200 (feature gaps that were going to be just too hard to fill) and that we should also be considering Accpac and X3. I told Sage Mgmt present that they needed to serious change the message on the SageMAS page because it clearly was still trying to tell people that MAS 90/200/500 were a product line and they logically could move up the ladder anytime they wanted. Nothing has changed and it is very misleading and confusing.

I watched Laurie Schultz rip Doug a new asshole for asking a valid question during the ""listening"" tour and right then and there I saw the winds of change rolling... Right now she seems to have caught the wind - though not fully (she was passed over for promotion). Maybe a sudden downdraft will eliminate one of the Sage MAS product line problems

It bothers me greatly that Sage has to be so aggressive in marketing services and support. It shows a lack of focus on what they should be doing: building and marketing great software solutions. It's the shit cycle of public companies. They always need to be exploring ways to make more, more, more and it leads to lack of focus on a core driver.

You're only as good as your next quarter mentality.
