I knew that this beast would eventually rise out of the swamp. I have a client who has been happily running MAS 90 v3.71 for over 10 years and now wants to upgrade to Sage 100 2013. So, am I going to have to dust off an old copy of 4.05 and perform THAT upgrade before doing the final migration to Sage 100 2013?

    Shouldn't have to.

I am in the final process of upgrading a client with about 20 companies from 3.51. I have to go to 3.71 first and then straight to 4.5. No need to do interim steps once they are 3.71.

Thanks for the info. It's been so long since I've taken anyone off of 3.71 that I couldn't remember i the ""remedial"" upgrade was from 3.6x to 3.71 or from 3.71 to 4.x. I'm just dusting off the cobwebs from items stored in the back of my brain.

What version was it where item customer history was broken out and if you skipped that upgrade, you lost it? 3.4x? 3.6x? Anyone remember what I'm talking about??

I only remember a sales tax ""thing"" in 3.4-ish. And there was an issue with going 3.61 to 4.00 re Custom Financials, but if you manually copied the files into the 4.00 it still worked.

I think there were customer type records in IM9 and then they broke them out to IM_13 at some point. I think there was a conversion utility that populated IM_13 but only for that particular upgrade.

We are taking someone from 3.5 to 2013. We had to go to the archives in the dusty file cabinet for 3.71. @ThereseLogeais - I remember what you are talking about. I think we even purchased a utility from someone to fix it. Seems like it was 4.05 to 4.1.

Maybe @ScottHickman is thinking about customer and vendor history not being ported over by month. That WAS a utiltiy that Randy Marion wrote. Very, Very helpful. Shame of Sage for not doing it automaticly.

@JeffSchwenk I think you maybe right. I do know that I am struggling to go back to 3.5. I implemented MAS at this client in a prior life. Seems like yesterday, but I guess not. I would have bet we had installed at least 3.71 there. They had my cell phone in their rolodex from 12 years ago....
