I just made an executive decision that I'm done taking CC for renewal of Sage maintenance. Most of these are either last minute renewals or people wanting airline miles. If they want the miles they'll have to pay Sage direct and let Sage eat the fee for CC payment.

Or do like all the gas stations now and charge a 3% premium for that privilege.

Careful how you word it. I don't think you can bump the price to offset cc fees... but you can offer a ""discounted"" amount if paid via cash or check.

Not sure sure about the raising of the price to offset CC fees. Has anyone tried to pay taxes lately? The Feds charge a ""convenience fee"" for the abiltiy to pay via CC. Most states do also. I think as long as you word it as such, you aren't raising the price of the M & S, but for the ability to use the credit card. I don't see anything wrong with that.

Check with your processor before you do it. Gas stations and govt fall under some kind of special rules.
