I just heard about someone calling a Sage Sales Advisor (in Atlanta) for [new] unlocking keys, to which the Sales Advisor said, ""I don't know how to do that. They were supposed to train us but they haven't yet. I've been getting lots of those types of calls so it sounds like we should really know how to do that"". So the person then reached out to Sage Support (and got thru somehow), but Support said they couldn't help either. Has Sage switched to running that company out of the back of a van down by the river?!?!?!

What version was this for? Really old versions or those that are no longer on support may not be eligible for easily obtaining keys.

I've had this happen too for Sage Intelligence Keys and Sales keeps trying to push off to Support. Support pushed me back but talked with the Sales person first and explained it was her job and she had to figure it out. It is very frustrating. Adds to the frustration of taking 3-4 days to get new keys after getting enrolled in Payroll Subscription.

I try to set the end user expectations that dealing with Sage is going to be a disaster. I think this is wonderful for those of us who sell support agreements since it's another benefit we can add to our services (navigating the Sage swamp). If the customer doesn't want to pay there's a spot in line right behind the 85th caller... In my view, Sage has wholly misread the SMB market (100/300/500) and thinks they will successfully go direct and support end users on complex implementations. I think Sage is wrong but they won't realize their mistake until it's too late. I think it actually may be too late to turn the ship.

@WayneSchulz, I'm pretty sure it _wasn't_ for a really old version, and that the client is current on Maint. Btw, I'm glad to see that folks picked up on my SNL/Farley reference!!

Amazing @NancyHanson - I just had to explain to my RSM why it was HER job to be a Sage liaison for me and not a secretary......

And, I heard from a client of mine yesterday who called Sage accidentally instead of us, and Sage's automated system basically said something to the effect of ""we're very busy, try back later"". Gotta love it!!
