  • 1.  I have been working with a client on a custom pick

    I have been working with a client on a custom picking sheet for bill of materials using UDF's etc. After a few back and forth emails, he says, ""Can I call you right now?"" He can be a bit demanding so I'm thinking, oh geez, what's he going to say? Turns out, he just wanted to tell me how happy he is with the new form and how much it is going to help him. Pretty sure I left money on the table with this one....

    Raise the ""gold"" bar on the next project. Always a great feeling to answer the phone and have a happy client on the other end. A great benefit about caller ID is deciding whether or not to take the call!

    Caller ID can be helpful. I usually answer those calls where I have some idea what the caller wants to talk about but it's always tough when you're just not sure where the conversation might go. Then there are the times where you have the number in your phone so you answer, ""Hi Andy!"" and it turns out to be Mark from the same company. Oh well.

    Another dark side of caller ID is that callers EXPECT you to pick up. Friends and family members are notorious. Then they leave snarky messages asking WHY didn't you take their call. Ummmm, because I was on the phone with someone else or I didn't hear the phone ring......
