I have been cleaning up some paperless documents and am finding a number of PDF files that have an extention of .CAT added to the end. In some cases they are by them self and in others the original PDF is there two. If i rename and backspace out the .CAT, they come up fine as a PDF. Anyone know where these come from? The customers server sees CAT extension as a Security Catalog but the PDF file is unmodified.

Are these old pdf's???? An early version of v4.3 had a bug in it which created two PDF files, one had a pdf extension and the other was CAT. As you noted, you can change the extension so that it is readable. Might be something for you to do over the holiday weekend.

Thanks for the replies. The PDFs are old and from 4.3. I just moved the client to 4.4 and was moving the PDFs to a better location when I noticed the CAT files.
