Sage 100

I have a user on Sage 100 4.4 who says they just had a common item -- which used to be a comment code /C change to a misc item. Naturally nobody did anything or restored over it -- so it could never be that. So has anyone witnessed a case where Sage spontaneously changed the type of a misc charge to become misc item?

When 4.40 or earlier came out didn't they merge all the items and semi duplicates were created. Ie: widget and widget1. Often the types got changed too I believe. But never saw a comment go to an item.

Could they have a C and /C code? C is for the standard comment code and /c some one created. Look in the misc code maint file.

Yes it looks as if they imported /C as type 1 which is inventory. When I change to type 4 (comment) the problem goes away. You cannot enter a /C through inventory maintenance. Not sure if you can through VI. My suspicion is that this was the result of a VI job gone wrong. Resolution: Manually change the types from 1 (inventory) to 4 (comment).
