    I have a Sage100 Standard 2017 PU2 installed. They will be working through the day and all of a sudden everyone is hung up. If I go to the server shares and clear all the open files everyone can get back in for a few hours. It is Standard (not Advanced or Premium). We have renamed SY_Workstation and SY_Console the other day but not since. Suggestions? I vaguely remember having this issue and it was one user hanging everyone up.

    Have you tried clearing them one-at-a-time - we have seen one workstation be the ""cause"" of everyone having the problem - when the one workstation is ""killed"" the others start working ?

    Are AntiVirus exclusions in place for all workstations?

    I agree with Kevin and also make sure the AntiVirus program on the workstations is not scanning network drives. Are there any workstations with obsolete (no longer used) printers installed on them? Any of the workstations with less than optimum RAM?

    We have been tracking workstations to see if we can determine which one. We have already asked for exclusion and need to see if that happened. Sage PEP was verified to be turned off. Thank each of you for taking the time for input.

    Also, verify all users are hard wired (no wifi connections)

    wifi is TOO slow for Sage 100 Standard. It is also usually a variable speed. Sage recommends at least 100 MBS connection - most people don't have wifi that fast AND that steady. I've been over this MANY TIMES with clients on why their Sage crashes.

    @KathrynScofield I have had issues with dropped wifi connections. If \ when that happens some Sage files will not unlock properly and cause hang ups and it seems to 'trickle' through the system making it difficult to identify. It's just one area we address when this issue comes up.

    I had this issue couple weeks back. Client kept complaining for over a month that her workstation kept locking up. I finally referred her to Sage for resolution. That worked for a week or so, then the calls started again. I finally asked, ""by any chance are you on a wifi connection to the server"" Why yes, I am, ever since a got a laptop workstation. ""Do me a favor then, please use a hard wired connection cat 5 connection"". Some push back. ""humor me please"" She did. Haven't had that support call since......
