I have a Sage 100 v4.20 standard that wants to move their setup of MAS to a terminal server. I was hoping I could just run workstation setup and be done with it however when I login to the TS it complains about not wanting a UNC (despite having a mapped drive). So I download the 4.20 disks and run the autorun and try to run workstation setup off the master disk but that only shows local disks. Server: Windows Server 2012 R2 Have I missed a trick or is 4.2 wksetup not installable to this server?

It's turned off as best I can tell by looking at the control settings

Yeah nothing worked and I had quoted a fixed fee which I won't collect so I :""stop lossed"" it and said no hard feelings keep the dough but this doesn't seem as if it's going to happen. Tip: For work on unsupported platforms, break up a fixed fee quote into ""initial review"" and :""final install"". The initial review should be payable whether successful or not. The second final install is only if the first step indicates that you can successfully complete. Otherwise if you can't get it installed after 8 hours you'll be eating your fee.

I'm not sure - it could have been. Unfortunately on a fixed fee I felt that I had to weight the likelihood that I was going to make a version 4.2 work on a new 2012 R2 and not being able to run workstation setup because it didn't see drive letters wasn't giving me a lot of reassurance. I also don't have any $$ built into my price to negotiate with their IT folks over whose problem it was (Sage vs IT) so I just advised they should make due with what they have. I'm finding that assisting people on outdated Sage is not a moneymaker and I'll probably stop doing so - especially because 99.8% of them are just looking to band-aid their system until they can migrate away.

Just curious, are they on or off maintenance?

Off. The company was sold to another company. They are band-aiding until they can move to the main company system.
