I have a customer who uses Leads. When they convert a lead into a company, the communications from the lead don't come into the communications for the company. Is that just how the system works? They are using 6.2.

That's how it works. Leads are considered warm up for the big leagues so any interactions (communicatios) done with this will stay with the lead.

So this isn't planned for a future version? I would think you'd want to keep their communications all through their life span, not lose them.

You don't lose them. They are still there attached to the Lead. You can access the Lead through the button that gets linked to the Company (maybe the Opportunity?). If your customers would like them to move forward, I have a customization that can do the job.

What is the cost on that? And is it a cost per version (e.g. one cost per 6.2, one cost per 7.0, one cost per 7.1, etc.) or just a one-time cost?

It's a subscription based product - $1100 per year or $100 per month. Reseller makes 30% margin - payable up front if the client pays annually, payable in arrears at the one year mark if client pays monthly. Call or email me if you want to discuss or haggle. :)
