I have a customer using SAGE 100 ERP Standard ver 4.5 with the Payroll module. Currently paying 1,000 active employees with a few inactive employee records. Anyone ever reach an upper limit of employee records that SAGE 100 ERP can handle? Customer expects continued employment growth.

Well, I certainly would get them up to Advanced or show them how to run PR from the server as 1K must be taking them forever to process from a workstation. Plus you have the occasional error 47's to contend with. What is their definition of continued employment growth? What other modules are they using in MAS that interface with PR? I would think a major issue is the perpetual history report as that is the one that will continue to grow. Of course the other issues are various types of deductions (garnishments) and how flexible MAS is. Abra gets very pricey at that level of employees.

@JimWoodhead Thanks for your response. @JeffSchwenk We have set up two VI imports - one for hourly and one for salaried employees - and process two payrolls every other week. This customer has a staff of talented Access / SQL programmers, these IT guys write a lot of custom reports. SAGE 100 ERP includes GL, AR, AP, PR, VI, F9 and ER (old MM). Sales Order, Inventory, Manufacturing and Purchasing handled by custom SQL systems. I'll have to ask how long it takes to process hourly payroll after VI import. Can't say I have run into error 47's at this site. How SAGE handles deductions, W2 processing, Electronic Reporting with no editing, Third Party Sick Pay, etc. have been repeated complaints here. However when we switch to Aatrix this year some of those complaints will go away.
