I have a customer running Sage 100 version 5.10.03. They use average costing for inventory valuation. We recently found over 100 items in the IM_ItemWarehouse table that has a quantity on hand of 0 but as a value in TotalWarehouseValue. We need to clear this bucket but I am reluctant to just adjust it by hand via DFDM. That's what the client is pushing to do but the accountant in me wants an audit trail in the system. Has anyone ever worked with the ""Average Cost Fix Utility (Sage KB ID: 20955)? Does anyone have a copy of do I need to go through support and beg for a copy?

I've used it a couple of times, in conjunction with those Clear Commit utilities and the Recalc History in Utilities.

I have used the Fix but not in the 5.10 release version. This program was designed for 4.40. If used proceed with caution. Otherwise check out the ""How to correct Average Cost"" KB which should offer a nice audit trail for you

Ho Shawn, I have had to change the Total Warehouse Value using DFDM on items before, though usually only about 1--20 never 100. That said the argument is if the quantity is zero, then the valuation is zero right? I believe I tried the Utility on a 2013 and did not get fix the issue.

To justify going into DFDM to make these changes The Stock Status Report and the Detail Transaction Report (DTR), running the DTR with either a blank beginning date or something like 01-01-1900; using an ending date of 12-31-2999. Both reports easiest to run by whse and item. The QOH should match. We practice using the value on the DTR as the true QOH value, expecting details = posting to GL. So if the DTR and Stock Status reported don't agree then DFDM would be acceptable method to correct.IM_ItemWarehouse. If these files are in line, adjustment transactions should be made to correct the QOH.

Shawn - not sure if you're still battling this, but you can try copying the IM_ExtCostsInitialization_utl files from the Utility folder to IM folder, using File/Run/syzcon and typing ""Run IM_ExtCostsInitialization_utl.M4P"" to recalculate CI_Item and IM_ItemWarehouse tables.
