I have a customer on v4.30 where they have a few Crystal Reports which make use of the IM_13CustomerSalesHistory. They insist that these reports be reproduced exactly as they are in 4.3. I'm thinking that either a bit of math has to happen using IM_ITemCustomerHistoryByPeriod. My concern is that the report also shows prior year period info (not contained in the IM_ItemCustomerHistoryByPerio) so I envision a series of ugly reports where I subtotal the columns and suppress the details. An alternative appears to be to use the SO_CustomerSalesHistoryWRK and make it a report setting. I have concerns about option # 1 -- primarily that it won't be fast enough and the customer will be completely unforgiving. For anyone who has already had to re-create one of these types of reports which had previously relied on the IM_13 --- which way did you go ?

And as a follow-on --- presuming that I go the SO_CustomerSalesHistoryWrk route -- how do I get the SO - Customer Sales History Report to prompt for a cutoff month? Doesn't seem I can attach a UDF unless it is fed from a prior report. And I'm not sure adding a parameter does anything in a Sage generated/controlled ""native"" report.

Parameter question answered: Place the parameter on the report or it won't prompt when the report is run.

Testing this -- seems like my early answer is that to duplicate the IM_13 I'm probably going to hijack the Customer Sales History Report and create a report setting. Seems like this would be much faster than a ""from scratch"" where I have to go through all detail records and summarize current/prior in a standalone Crystal Report. Still interested in any feedback if you've traveled this road.

I always customize the Inventory Sales History Report in Inventory in a separate Report Setting. There is a service update that fixes the prompt issue in 2013.

Thanks Beth - any particular reason you'd use the Inventory Sales History vs Customer Sales History (in the SO module?). In my case the customer is looking for a current and prior comparison - which I can get from Customer Sales History. Although the Inventory Sales History seems to have more options. Customer is currently only entering -- month, year -- as parameters and they've expressly asked to recreate the prior report exactly as it was -- so I'm thinking less parameters is probably better for them. Just curious if there's a reason that I'm missing to go one report v another. Thanks!

I just usually use that one because it's using the same files as what was previously IM_13.

Thanks Beth - what I think worked (still testing) is to use arrays to read in the period1-12. Then I used a loop to get my PTD and when I needed just the month (current or prior) I used variableName[monthNo]. So far that seems to be working but I don't know whether I'm going to run into performance issues. Once I upload and test the report at the customer site I will post a copy in case anyone wants to skim from it in the future. Took me a good hour or two to find anything that was coherent online about using arrays to create the amounts. Even then I'm not sure I did it the most efficient way.
