I have a customer on MAS 200 v4.05 where the software was previously customized by another partner. Their IT department was able to install 2014 but when they go to convert data they receive an error ""The Development Studio Module Needs To Be Reinstalled"". Beyond ""reinstall the damn module"" (which we don't have). -- any other guidance? I believe the issue here is that the prior VAR likely did a lot of adhoc customizations - perhaps some while on-site - so some developer tools may have been installed.

I really haven't spent much time diagnosing this since their IT DEPT jumped in first thinking they'd manage the install and testing.

I would make a test copy of the 4.05 and uninstall the MD module on that and do the data migration from that test copy (without the development module).

Some versions had an install for the MD utilities. Use control panel on the old system and see if there's an uninstall for MD Utilities.

You might need to just delete the M/D records from the sy0ctl.soa file. It is either the l or v records. That should get you past the error.

When I had something similar I got around it by renaming the LINKS folder, creating an empty LINKS folder and deleting the records from sy0ctl.soa. That let me get the data migrated and converted at which point I restored the LINKS folder. A duct-tape solution but it worked!
