I have a customer on 2015 advanced. They have payroll. If they dont upgrade to a more recent version of Sage 100 will they be able to process W-2s, the 941, etc through Aatrix this January?

Thank you @KellySappington I believe/hope you are correct, which is great news. The document says payroll and efiling support for 12/31/2017.

You can actually process through Aatrix without the integration. Get the data out to Excel and upload it to the Aatrix web site. We have a customer with payroll whose anniversary is in the first week of January and they NEVER renew on time...@LeeGraham has the Crystal Report for this I believe.

Sage posted a note on Sage City advising people who were converting to 2018 from a lower version of payroll (existing users) to hold off on upgrading pending a fix early November. Sounds like an issue with workers compensation.

Good to know Wayne. Now that I know we don't have to rush to upgrade we will probably hold off until Feb or March.

Sage has been very poor at communicating about 2018. Tread cautiously with payroll.

Isn't that a redundant statement @WayneSchulz - Sage, Poor, Communicating?? They may want to keep a lid on it as they don't want a stampede to PR which would tax their 2.45 person support staff..

I am advising Payroll customers to wait on upgrading until after 2017 W-2s are filed. The last thing we need is an issue with W-2 filing!

I just want to be sure my 2015 customer CAN print W-2S. At one point I thought Sage only supported ""N-2"" versions which would mean 2015 is no longer supported. I'd hate to get a call in January and find out either they have to upgrade or find another method of processing payroll taxes and W-2S. Umm that would definitely be a CLM.

You can always install the upgrade, migrate and run just their PR from the new version. Or take their PR data folder, dump it on your system and run w-2's there. So many options to make your client's day.

If they didn't have payroll integrated with job cost then running payroll standalone would be a good temporary option. I like the idea of copying the payroll data file to my system just to run the W-2s. Looks like 2015 is supported at least through the first of the year so shouldn't have to use the work around.

We used a Crystal Report from the PR1_EmployeeMaster and PR3_EmployeeTaxSummary files to extract the info.

@DougHiggs - I wasn't suggesting running PR for the long term, ONLY installing a newer version of Sage, migrate the data and only use PR to run the YE filings.

Yes. I see that now. That is a good idea. Thanks.
