I have a client with AR Invoice History Header and Lines files that have grown so large that Sage has created and begun populating the .001 file. I warned them months ago that this would happen but here we are. If they now purge history, anyone know how will these files be handled? Oh, they haven't done period end in any module since 2011. Sheesh.

Sage will handle the purge fine even with a .001 file. I have clients with .001 - .005 files in inventory and Sage has no problems handling them

Client, Gotta love them! Without them, I would be handing out carts at Wal-mart. I am not one to throw things out (it KILLED me the other day when I found the Mr. Coffee in the trash bin) so I rarely suggest purging history files. As long as file space remains inexpensive and performance is not an issue, I just let them build. Running the PE processing isn't as critical as it once was, but it does purge the open AR and AP invoice tables. Occasionally, I will purge zero tier cost tables as well.

Thanks to work files most reports run fine but invoice inquiry is slooow.

Archive company copy >> purge.
