I have a client who wants to install his 1 free SMI license on a terminal server... Anyone have any thoughts as to the wisdom of this? TIA

The primary concern is how the SMI license is assigned. Would each user on the terminal server appear differently? Check with @EricAnderson or @AaronClark (Peter's nicer twin) as they have done a lot SMI (S&M?) work.

@JeffSchwenk - that's the question and that's what SMI/Alchemex has said - each term user would need to have their own license. Whether it actually can tell the difference - I'm not positive as I don't currently have anyone set up that way. @AaronClark might - anyway, to be safe I would make sure the client expects/understands that each term user would need their own license.

This client is just getting their respective feet wet with this product, so I think they can live with that for now anyway... Thanks for the input

It's a workstation license, not a user license, so one terminal server should suffice. @EricAnderson does have a client set up this way, but he may not realize it, because I did the install. :)

So a way arround the licensing cost could be to through SMI on a terminal session? So maybe three people need access, you could buy a one or two user license and put it on TS connection????
