I have a client who wants to hold off upgrading their Sage 100 2014 until after year end. They have payroll, and although I have always been able to print W-2s for unsupported versions through Aatrix, it seems that I read something from Sage which indicated that would not be possible for this year. I suggested the client do test W-2s for 2017. We are not finding 2017 W-2 forms in their version. I have also checked a client on 2016, and there are no 2017 W-2s available there. Does anyone know of a timetable for 2017 W-2 release? Is there anything definitive that 2017 W-2s will or will not print with Sage 100 2014?

Search the threads for more on this topic. Seems like there was one within the past month.... Based on the past, I would not expect anything from Aatrix until early to mid December... And Sage will probably release an IRD toward the end of December.

I would think Aatrix will still update forms so you can print, but perhaps not eFile.

I'm with Bob on this - I seem to remember Aatrix mentioning that they could still work even on technically unsupported releases. I do think they'll need a valid Sage agreement. I'd test ASAP just in case.

Chris, I have two in that same situation, cannot upgrade until next year but need to run the W-2's. I'm going to install 2017 on their local machine and have them pull the data over after their last payroll to run the year end forms, etc. while they continue to run on the older level until they are ready.

Thank you all for the comments/suggestions. Sounds like good workarounds.
