I have a client who loved WinFax back in MAS90 4.30 but was forced to convert to Microsoft Fax when we went to 4.40 then 4.50. Lots of issues getting the standard fax modem and printer drivers installed on the local machine but we finally got it working. Now the client claims that besides ""normal issues of some faxes not going out but log says they do"", now there are some faxes are apparently unreadable once they reach the customer. Has anyone heard if Sage is still looking into some online faxing options, and are there any suggestions I can make to IT about how to troubleshoot the fax printer driver in case that is the reason fro these gibberish faxes?

Amber we make any of our clients who still insist on faxing use the email functionality of paperless office along with an online fax service that supports email-to-fax and then the email they send to is fax#@faxservice.com. (ex. 1234567890@myfax.com)

We have successfully done that with our clients, also. It's a lot nicer than listenining to that stupid fax machine beep :)

The issue with email faxing is that it costs an additional amount. We got Microsoft fax to work with 4.4 ok. The cover page functionality is in a word ""poor"". We are planning on a 4.5 upgrade in the next month. I will let you know how it goes.

Thanks guys. Since I don't have a ton of clients using faxing, experience is limited when attempting to troubleshoot strange things that happen only to one. I will suggest the LM-1033 to them.

Wasn't this at one time on the road map to be returned to the product? I remember Sage seemed completely ""deer in the headlights dumfounded"" when we asked why they took away efax , etc support.

An old KB article for 4.30 states ""As of July 30, 2008, only Microsoft Fax is supported with MAS 90 and 200 version 4.30. Sage plans to add support for online fax services in the future."" Maybe v5.0? :)
