I have a client using Sage 100 2013 with CRM and the Greytrix integration. The client needs the most recent PU and the IRD. Greytrix is telling me I need to uninstall their enhancement, install the updates, reinstall Greytrix and then go through configuration of Greytrix. I am accustom to installing PUs and IRDs and then throwing third party compatible (most recent updated) version of the enhancements on but I am not feeling warm and fussy about uninstalling Greytrix and reinstalling when that solution seems to create a lot of upgrade pain in the past. This is just an update, not an upgrade. We will be going to 2015 or 2016 in the spring but there are a lot of people and a lot of testing to be done before that happens. Today's issue is the service update. Of course I apparently have exceeded my 1 reply per 24 hours from Greytrix support. Do I need to uninstall? Any advice? This is the first of me playing with this as I had been partnering with a big reseller that has become less responsive lately.

No expertise with Greytrix here - however I usually would install PU then reinstall mods (as opposed to fully uninstalling then reinstalling). I just dealt with a similar issue. Needed to install PU for ACA and customer had third party enhancements. Unfortunately, that means you then have to reinstall all the third party stuff after you to the PU. Then you sit and hope that nothing broke on the reinstall. Just to be safe, if possible, I'd make a backup copy of \MAS90 and all subfolders to a separate location prior to loading anything.

Absolutely, @WayneSchulz . This is my standard operating procedure (including the wait to see if something broke either on the enhancement or the third party. I have just found I need to also check with DSD as PO1031 and SO1121 both only show updated through PU5 and not PU9 on 2013. Oh boy.

Any idea why they would specifically tell me to uninstall? I think they misunderstand my question as when I ask for clarity they answer as if I am upgrading (migrating).

I am looking at the detailed instructions for uninstall (all done manually deleting files, records and fields) and the reinstall of their download for the GUMU (which seems update/upgrade agnostic), and I feel like I would be safer to install the update and see if the integration still works because the uninstall just removes specific files and references to their enhancement and does not edit any of the programming of any files located within Sage's core programs. Then I will rerun their setup if the integration does not function after update. Of course I have a full MAS90 directory backup.

    I agree - that's what I'd do too.

So, when I try to run the GUMU install it says a previous version has already been installed and cannot be reinstalled. So, I installed PU9 and the 3 DSD enhancements (which turned out to be fully compatible per DSD support) and tested and at the moment CRM, GUMU, and Sage 100 all appear to be in the playground with only happy sounds.

    1 reply per 24 hours?

I am being a bit sarcastic but I can tell you I emailed yesterday. I received an answer at 10 this morn. Replied at 10:15 and have not heard back.
