I have a client using only ""Special items"" currently for PO's. We need to post to the line item designated GL account and to Purchases Clearing when goods are received in ROG entry. I just discovered that the system does not post to GL for Special or Misc items. Does anyone have a work around?

There is an extended solution for posting to GL for misc items when doing ROG. Otherwise they post at time of ROI. Have a customer using this. I believe Special items fall into this too, but not sure off hand.

Could you turn off ""Integrate with Inventory Management"" in PO Options, then use Inventory Items rather than * items?

They could make a miscellaneous inventory item number and use that with a modified description rather than using the ""*"", which would cause the GL posting to happen at ROG rather than ROI.
