I have a client using MAS90 4.30.17 When printing the daily transaction register is AP they get the error ""Unable to View Daily Transaction Register Query Engine Error. 'S0000:[ProvideX][ODBC Driver][FILEIO]Invalide Date contents."" When I go to the file in DFDM i can see that the posting date is wrong for all 10 records. When i change the posting date in a record it won't let me save the record because the date is in the key and it wants every field in the key to be unique. Is there a way to get around this and fix these records? thanks.

You also need to assign a new sequence number when changing the date. This will create a new unique record. Then delete the bad record. Easiest way to determine a unique sequence number is export file into Excel, then use the next number. But you may not be able to if you have a bad date. The fastest way to fix it is if you can export the 10 lines into Excel. Then you could reinitialize the daily posting file. Create a JE and key the 10 lines. Much faster. But you may need to have the full GL number, not just the GL account key.

thanks Jeff. i'm not sure it won't let me change the date. That creates a new unique record. I will export to Excel, reinitilize the file and we'll create a JE. thanks for the help. If it's 5pm here in Honolulu it much later there.

Nothing wrong with creating the new unique record. Just be sure to delete the origninal bad record afterwards. As indicated, you also must change the sequence number for this to work.

Seems like the only way to change the date is to export to Excel because DFDM doesn't allow me to change the date at all.

The other thing i don't understand is that Resolution ED 478457 seems to indicate you can change the date in DFDM

Jeff you're right. If i change the date it let's my change the sequence number to a unique sequence number and to delete the old record at the same time.

I always just put a 1 at the beginning of the sequence number and save it. Then I pull it back up and take the 1 back off and put the 0 back on and it is then in the same format it was in before you made the date change in the first place. Just in case. :-)

Sounds like you need to also change both Sequence # fields for each record via DFDM. http://www.sagesoftwareonline.com/sw_attach/kdb.asp?isresolutionconceptid=507373
