I have a client that wants to have the ability to separate the landed cost allocation to multiple COGS accounts when the item in sold. For example, Item is received at $100 with $25 of Freight and $10 duty. They would ideally like to be able to 1 - see the inventory valuation as allocated and unallocated cost (I think I've got this one covered) 2 - When the item is sold have the debit to COGS be COGS product $100, COGS Freight $25 and COGS Duty $10 instead of just Cot of good sold product $135 Just thought I'd ask if anyone has seen something like this before or if you are aware of an exiting modification to handle this??

What version and what is your inventory valuation?

Just to confirm - they are not allocating to separate accounts on the way IN (in receiving)?

Valuation is primarily serial. They have some average cost items, but they are not the concern for the landed cost. They will allocate to separate accounts at time of receipt, but that will only capture their landed cost variance (difference between estimated cost at ROG and actual cost in AP invoice) as designed.

Well since you are using Serial, you could create some UDF's that would track your dollars. Just have to develop some way to script your ledger entries.

Thanks. I was hoping something existed already. Spoke with the client and their CPA and the CPA does NOT want them to do this! Yay!!
