I have a client that needs to print their AP checks for one of their companies in Spanish. How would I go about doing this?

We have a customer that prints invoices in Spanish; in this case they made the form in Crystal in Spanish. They needed the dollar amount spelled out on the invoice and so we made a UDF where the user could type in the Spanish. This printed on the invoice.

Wayne, the customer is using MAS 4.4.0. Additionally, this translates their entire system, they just want to translate the check dollar amounts.

I heard something about the crtowords.dll used in Crystal Reports that helps with this. Anything on that?

Yes! The correct spelling is crtowords_en.dll that converts it to English. The DLL for Spanish is crtowords_es.dll Your issue is that you would need to rename the dll for the checks for the one company and then rename it back for everyone else. Might be able to do it with a script.

Louis, we are on the same track. This was their original solution before they upgraded. Now, they are using Crystal version 11.5. Where is the .dll file located because the original path (c:\Program Files\Common Files\Crystal Decisions\2.5\Bin) is no longer valid. Additionally, our concern, is that the client is in a shared environment and we don't want to change the .dll file while other clients may be using Crystal Reports with non-spanish requirements.

    It is located at C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Common\3.5\Bin

Can you tell Crystal Reports to use a specific dll file for a particular form? That sounds like wishful thinking.

Katrina, DSD also has a seperate APSC Spanish Check Printing (4.40, 4.50), and APSM Spanish Check Printing MICR enhancments (4.10), besides the multi-language enhancement. You can check out both enhancments by downloading the manuals at the DSD website. I have attached the manual.
