I have a client that is struggling with backorders and credit card authorizations. They authorize a credit card at Sales Order Entry but will ship part of the order that day and the rest of the order a few days later. The new CVV2 rules require they obtain the CVV2 code from the customer each time they reauthorize a card. They are currently use SPS but are considering APS. Any workarounds to allow multiple settlements against a single authorization? Assuming the settlements do not exceed the authorization? Lots of volume so manually working around it is currently a struggle and becoming even more cumbersome.

What version are they using?

Information I got from APS regarding the CVV2 code was it is good to have, helps eliminate disputes if customer saying they did not authorize and looking for a refund, but CC can process without it.

They are V2014. They definitely need to process under CVV2. Chargebacks are becoming abusive throughout the industry.

IDK, couldn't they use the CVV2 value as the ""Card ID""? Maybe a prefix such as V, M, D, A followed by the 3 or 4 digit code? (you didn't get that suggestion from me.)

Saving CVV2 codes scares me. I have heard there are some very ruthless penalties if that data is compromised. I am sure that is the reason the credit vaults do not store it even in their encrypted files.

If you save it you lose your PCI complance.
