I have a client that is Running Sage100 (standard) on MAC machines running with windows emulation. Obviously not supported and we were not aware they were doing this. We installed the latest PU on the server and ran WKSetup at a workstation that was NOT a MAC with no problem. They ran Wksetup on the MAC workstations and then call to tell us they are getting errors on the MAC machines (I don't have error information just yet). Before we call them back, has anyone done this? is there anything I should know? I have never even seen MAC with windows emulation so I don't know what I'm getting into and thought I would ask the group.

What virtual platforms does Sage support? https://support.na.sage.com/selfservice/viewdocument.do?noCount=true&externalId=52005&sliceId=1&cmd=displayKC&dialogID=15847&docType=kc&isLoadPublishedVer=&stateId=15856&docTypeID=DT_Article&ViewedDocsListHelper=com.kanisa.apps.common.BaseViewedDocsListHelperImpl

These days it's usually virtual machines which Sage does support. You may also find that they're running RDP to the server. Little difference between running a VM on Windows MAC. I have a couple customers who do this and it has been pretty trouble free. The old days of Windows emulation on MAC being unstable are largely done with.

It is windows running virtually within the MAC. Pretty straight forward. If the virtual instance is running an operating system that Sage100 likes it should not create an issue. I have one client doing this on a couple machines. I am actually working to install an update for them now on their 2013. Gulp...

The two typical virtual machines: VMWARE Fusion or Parallels.

The first question is ""which Windows emulation?"". I use VMWare Fusion on my Mac and there is little or no problem with it. Other than keyboard differences, it acts just like Windows (except it tends to be more stable than my old Windows laptop). VMWare Fusion hosts virtual machines and those virtual machines look just like real Windows machines to the applications. One thing that can cause problems is how they are using Fusion. One of the options is to run in Unity mode, which will allow you to run a single Windows app almost as if it were a Mac app, in it's own Mac window. I think you could have problems trying to use that. I like Unity mode, but I don't like the fact that some apps have issues with it, so I don't use it. If they're trying to use it that way, it could cause a problem, I think. I usually start Fusion as a ""single window"" with a Windows desktop.

David, I meant to say that the hosted Windows OS must be supported of course, I believe Larry Bradford made that point. The error message they're getting will tell you a lot, but if they're using VMWare Fusion with a supported Windows OS in the virtual machine, then the error is quite probably unrelated to the fact that it's running on a Mac and you can handle it comfortable.
