I have a client that is doing multiple imports (using VI) and we've set up the batch to be a runtime entry. Is there a way to ensure the same batch number isn't entered twice? We've already encountered her forgetting and doubling the entries for the batch? I'm sure there's a simple way.

Can't you assign the batch number within VI incrementally? Take it off the run time?

I tried that Jeff and it created a batch number for each line in the import ;(

What version of MAS? Sounds like you don't have the column defined correctly. I believe I always assign a column way to the right of the import, one that is totally blank.

Add the batch number to the file you are importing. That will work

The import files are coming from other systems intact, they are not to be opened (human error).
