I have a client that has just purchased Sage 100 Premium (upgrading their Sage 100 Advanced). They have also purchased FAS in SQL, Altec, and Sage Alerts. As good of a day as today is... I would prefer someone assist on this project with a lot more experience. Any suggestions on a remote resource in the 90minds group?

Congrats on the deal. Which part are you looking for help with, FAS, Altec, Alerts or SQL?

Thank you for the kind words. I have Alerts under control. I am looking for guidance as I want to learn on the SQL installs of FAS and SQL and listed the others for full disclosure as to what else is in the environment. They also have eRequester.

@LarryBradford congratulations. We have some experience with SQL via Sage 500 and Sage 100 premium. With eRequester, we let Paperless Solutions manage most of their own work. Altec's team does a pretty good job as well. Both require some project management and resolution resources when conflicts. FAS is pretty straight forward. Not much different than installing the Sybase version. Provisioning the SQL server is where you will get the biggest bang for the buck. If you server uses solid state drives, then a lot of the drive restrictions are null and void. If using SATA drives, then your responsiveness will improve exponentially by the number of spindles you employ and dedicate to different file types. Specifically, one set of drives for data files, another set for log file, and yet another for tempdb. All these are separate from the OS drives. Disk access speeds are the number one bottle neck in a SQL environment followed closely by memory, though there is a point of diminishing returns on more memory.
