If they have installed 64 bit Office, most of the exports and integration between Office and other programs (not just MAS) will be broken. This is most commonly seen where a program with some type of automatic ""mail to"" function for Outlook doesn't work and complains it can't find Outlook. I agree with Shawn, 32 bit Office should be installed. The fact Windows 7 is 64 bit won't matter.
Since they have moved to Hyper-V and Windows 2008, you also want to find out the following:
1. What type of backup system they are using and how often it is running? Some backup systems that call the VSS writer frequently (think making a backup every 15 minutes) disagree with MAS 90 and can cause drops and performance problems disguised as network issues.
2. Depending on the number of users, if you begin noticing performance problems, you may want to disable SMB2 on the MAS server. We typically see this only become an issue over 10 users, but we disable it as part of setup.
3. For the least amount of headaches, esepcially with paperless office, UAC should be turned off. This might make your system admins grumpy, but it is unfortunately necessary.
4. As long as you've had a server change, it's a good time to check the AV exclusions, power save settings, etc. and make sure anything you would normally check with a physical server replacement is also checked.
