I have a client on Starship v11 using Starship Link and they're asking if they can add the PO # to the UPS Daily Shipping Manifest and V-Tech is claiming that since it is not a ""Pre-Defined"" Field we will have to have a Customized report done by V-Tech at extra costs. Has anyone done this specifically? Do you know if the only alternative is a V-Tech customization or would this UPS Daily Shipping Manifest be a modifiable Crystal form?

Can't you pass the field into one of their UDF's (or another field that's not used) via the interface and use their report designer to customize the form?

I think Wayne's client is using the Staship Link and Shipping Data Entry in MAS90 which does not allow customization. The Starship BOI interface does allow custom mapping.

Not according to V-Tech -- however I'm skeptical as well.

Anyone else have a client who uses the PO# to transmit along with regular shipping data to UPS? On the upgrade to Starship 11 this seems to have changed slightly and the client cannot get any info from V-Tech other than call us and pay for either a custom report or pay for some support. So much for the theory of off-loading these upgrades to vendors. Basically the vendor washes their hands of any and all after-the-fact support and supplies a seemingly endless stream of dumb looks for just about any questions. So far Infor is my candidate for worst vendor to deal with -- though V-Tech may start to gather more speed in the race...

That's the problem with having the vendor install. You're bound to get follow-up questions and have to get involved anyway. When I looked at the price, it seemed like a no brainer... until the questions begin.

It's always a risk because remote vendors have no skin in the game. They just walk away and deem the install done and because we have an ongoing relationship we're left as the unpaid complaint department... ;-(
