I have a client on 4.5 (not sure of SU) who wants the /C comments to print on their packing list. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to add it or make them appear. Help.

Not in working file so use a sub report. Print from SO invoice detail.

Have you changed the print comments setting to Partial or Full?

So @BrettLyder, I wasn't losing my mind. The data is not stored in the Work file?! @MichaelNottoli, I believe the comments are set to Full, but remind me again the impact of Partial...

I think Partial is the first 30 characters. Full is the entire comment.

I'm confused. What's this? Isn't that the comment lines??? I think @MichaelNottoli is correct, you have to choose to print Comment lines. Partial means that it will only print the first 30 or 50 characters (can't remember which) and not the full comment if it goes beyond that.

Just printed a standard Packing List and comment came out fine.

I believe the /C comments are mIscellaneous Item Type 4 and it is suppressed in Details A. You may wish to try a new detail line especially for item type 4 or just kill the suppression as a test. I may be all wet on this. I am going from memory and it's pretty old.

I think the line comment works, it the /C comments that aren't. And you are right @JohnBroadfoot I do recall seeing a suppression note on that detail. However, I'll see if the User can load the information into the line comments. At this time they are using the /C.

What's the suppression formula on the details section that comments are on?

Must be something on your form, as /C print on Pick Sheet without having to print Misc Items.

It's because you have added the SO_PackageTrackingByItem table which is ONLY for items. Try this one with a left outer join.

Aaaaah, the I forgot that I added a table to the report issue.......... Happens to us all! A month back, I added GL account and description to a table. Worked great in my test. A week later, client reported that information was being dropped randomly. so I look and scratch my head. Finally, it hits me that comment lines do not have GL accounts. Looked at the join and it was wrong. Quick change and the client was smiling again. BTW, the wine WAS delicious last night....
