I have a client implementing Fusion. They are mapping to the Sage100ERP database. It appears in SO_InvoiceDetail (and possibly other files) the fields are not in the same order as they appear in the Data Layouts. An example is AP Division and Vendor Number appear farther down the list in Crystal and DFDM rather than between PromiseDate and PurchaseORderNo. This impacts the mapping and implementation cost. I tried adding a UDF to rebuild the data dictionary. Is there a utility or process to get the system to put the fields back in their intended order? Why/How would they get out of order in the first place?

Larry - we did an upgrade with Fusion and oddly enough we had an issue. The upgrade looked fine and there were no issues on the upgrade log, but when we looked at the back-end (file structure) it looked like the structure did not change. We provided the data to Sage and they were able to replicate the issue (our client went from 4.3 to 4.5)

Lisa, Thank you so much for the information. Were you able to rebuild the structure or did you have to map and adjust the Fusion integration?

I've seen this in other upgrades - the file layouts don't seem to retain similar positions. The fields are still there but in one system a field may be in position 3. On another it's in 15.

Larry - these are the steps that Sage provided and it seemed to work to ""reset"" the data dictionary field positions. 1. Migrate their 4.30 data to 4.50 2. Convert company data to 4.50. 3. Export the UDF's/UDT's and customizations (.mdx file) using Custom Office 'Customizer Export Wizard' 4. Rename the Providex.ddf and Providex.dde. 5. Reinstall System Setup, Library, and ALL modules. 6. Reinstall Product Update and enhancements 7. Reimport UDF/UDF's using 'Customizer Import Wizard'

WOW! I think it will make more sense for the client to have Fusion modify their integration.

LOL. 8. Debug problems caused by reinstall and reimport 9. Eat the time you spend on steps 1-8 10. Be sure to re-certify by May 2014
