I have a 4.4 to 2014 upgrade to do with 50 companies (GL/AP/PR). Has anyone worked out a script or something to rebuild data files without having to go through each company/each module? Wishful thinking?

Oh please, oh please, oh please, someone have one!!!! I have a 2 upgrades to do: 30 companies and 80 companies. One is moving from 4.4, the other is from 4.5. I'm praying for a way to rebuild sort and key files without pushing buttons all night.

I would love to piggyback on this one, too.

I have done more upgrades that I can count without spending endless hours in advance rebuilding sorts, keys. I guess I'm just lucky. Also check with @MarkKotyla because I think he has a similar situation and may have asked about this a few months back.

Sorry, I don't have an automated solution. I've either had the customer do this step or I've done it remotely while working on other tasks. If you're going to rebuild, it's prudent to see and act upon the results as you're doing it. If I was really in a pinch, I'd probably turn this task over to my teenage daughter.

I'm with @WayneSchulz on this one. I do not spend hours rebuilding sorts and keys before an upgrade. I almost always do a Pilot run first, before GoLive. And when I have experienced an issue, and gone back and run the rebuilding sorts and keys (as recommended by Sage); in my experience, that wasn't the solution to the problem.

I like Mark's idea. Give the customer a checklist of rebuilds. Let them sign off on it.
