I hate client's that are on top of their game! They tend to be the first to report errors..... v2016 100 std, PU3, IRD2016 installed. Getting Aatrix error message regarding the pension plan check box and missing information. See attached. I think this is a red herring error. They only have a simple IRA, box 12S. Anyone else seen it?

I've seen it too. I confirmed the box IS supposed to be checked and went past the error, ignoring it.

Thanks. That is what I am thinking as well. And of course the KB portal seems to be down. I wonder if this is an AAtrix issue or Sage???

@MaryJoKrueger - The last to answer a question last night and one of the first to answer this AM. Are you working the late shift??

I came upon this yesterday too. Found the owner doesn't contribute to the 401k so Box 12 is empty. I unchecked the Retirement Plan Box and moved on. If employee is not participating, it shouldn't be checked correct? This could be different from your situation though.

All employees are erring out. They are in the pension plan, they all have deductions (Box S). There are no deductions for the type being flagged.

It's my understanding the box needs to be checked if Eric employee or employer contributes.

I just sent an email to helpme@aatrix.com with a screen shot of the error. For some reason during the busiest time of the year, their support desk is maintaining bankers hours...... I wonder how responsive they will be. I hope they are very UN Sage like.

Not sure why we waste our time calling support. Called at 8:01 Dakota time. It took longer to supply an FEIN than it took to get a response. The error message is not a FATAL error message. The data is not being presented in a manner consistent with IRS filings. Aatrix has NO plans to fix it. Please advise your clients to double check their data then skip past the message.... They **DID** model their tech support after Sage's!!!!!!!!!!

I have a customer with the same issue so I checked the instructions. I believe Aatrix is incorrect if they say the error message is correct. Perhaps they should check the instructions again.

I even sent an e-mail to Bruce Senti (crazy pants guy) who called me back. Says this is a common error message. Apparently, there are other columns involved. I told him I would be back with client on Tuesday and would send him screen shots. Says this error checking code has been active for several years. First I have seen it and I do about 10 w-2 submissions every year. But it was nice he called.

Oh, I am sure he is quite aware of his style. Gives me competition in San Diego...
