I feel I should know the answer to this question but here goes anyway. Customer just upgraded from 4.3 to v2014. They use WO with option bills. Since the upgrade, certain bills are creating sub-steps in WO. The example below has no routing associated with it but when I click on Operations, it has created sub-steps. I checked the option bills and the option interactions and NO routings are assigned to any. How and why is it doing this? @DebThomas @BethBowers ??

Those are steps associated to a PHANTOM Bill. There must be a phantom bill on the ""953AA"" part, and that phantom has a routing.

Hmm, good thought but no, there are no phantoms involved. It is kind of a weird setup but the main bill - 953AA - has no components nor do the option bills, only the option interactions. (They are a knitting mill and the options are size and color and the yarns are on the option interactions.) I looked to see if there may be a bill for either of the two yarns on this but there are not.

Did you check the item in inventory for a routing? It may be at the item level.

I did and no luck there either.

What if you recreate one? Does problem disappear?

There is a routing for this item with the steps listed in the example above. I tried creating a WO with that routing and it still added the sub-steps (duplicates of the routing). I have rebuilt BM and WO files and sorts, same thing.

Interestingly, while the option bill shows no routing, when I ran a Crystal report, there IS a routing for that option bill. Now the question is, how do I correct them? If I add the routing to the main bill, I am then able to delete the routing on the option bill and voila, WO's are now correct.

Wow, a hidden option. I have noticed ""hidden"" things before. The only way I found them was to locate the visible item, then use the radio button to move to the next item which would reveal the culprit. Not sure if this was a possibility here....
