Sage 100

I do not have experience with Point of Sale (POS) or eCommerce. A small one location western apparel, boots and horse tack business needs to change their software systems. They currently use the following: Inventory and POS = CounterPoint from NCR eCommerce BtoC = eStore from NCR Magento = I'm not sure where this fits into the configuration Accounting and Payroll = QuickBooks Could the above system be replaced with a system based on SAGE 100 for accounting, inventory and payroll? What other systems should I look at for POS, eCommerce, Magento?

Sure. But what is their budget? You already know this but by the time you are done, they will be suffering from sticker shock with Sage 100.

POS - Fusion RMS - Mike Gill - mike.gill@pointsolutionsllc.com eCommerce - for a full website - WSP, for just the link ROI Consulting / Insynch Like Jeff mentioned, you have two big issues (a) What's the budget? and (b) Is this a niche deal you want to invest time in? In all likelihood, you'll sit through three due diligence's - Sage 100c, POS, and eCommerce. You probably won't be paid for any of this so think about whether you want to start down the path of investing time into educating a Quickbooks user - especially when you don't have a stable of your own POS / eCommerce references to offer.

Maybe I'm just getting to old, but I will only invest 30 minutes talking with QB or Sage 50 prospects, and just as a courtesy. Likely, they've never worked with consultants and don't see the value of the relationship, and that's where we make our money. Gone is the days of recovering evaluation time with software margins on these deals.

I'm with Kathryn. first be sure you understand what pains they have to be thinking about this. Unless executive management changed, it's probably not enough. Offer to work them through a Vision and Roadmap project to define where they want to be in 3 years and why. Charge $3k-$6k depending on what's involved ($6k is where you manage their vendor meetings), Apply 50% of the fee to any resulting project with you.

They will not find a better POS system than CounterPoint, in my opinion. We were a reseller for it for 25 years, but no longer. It integrates with Sage 100 for GL and AP, if that helps.

@Karen O'Lane we have a customer using CounterPoint that was on Sage 50 but just went to Sage 100. You say it integrates with Sage 100 but how? Can you email me??

Found a company in Chicago, Modern Retail that appears to have integrations between CounterPoint, and several e-commerce platforms, Magento, Big Commerce, Shopify, and Woo Commerce. They also offer integrations to QuickBooks, SAGE 100 ERP and others.
