I didn't see anyone else post this and I just found out. It's with a heavy heart that I have to let you know @MarkKotyla passed away Friday. I knew Mark for a very long time and he will be sorely missed.
Below are two posts from his family on Facebook:
Mark's wake will be at Molloy's Funeral Home, 906 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford on Wednesday, 5:00-8:00. Funeral with Military Honors will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 872 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford. Reception in the Parish Center to follow. Note: parking for the funeral will be available on Outlook Rd, Robin Road, Dover Road and the Beth David Synagogue parking lot. Cassidy & I are in the process of establishing a Music Scholarship at Conard HS in Mark Kotyla memory. Donations in lieu of flowers can also be made to St Thomas the Apostle Church Capital Campaign Fund / Mark Kotyla's Memorial Fund. We would like to create a flower garden in his memory.

Friday night at around 9:30pm, right around the time it started to thunder, the world gained a new angel. I would like to believe the angels were crying. Words cannot describe the pain in my heart, the hole that exists solely because my dad is no longer with us, and the sorrow it feels to lose your dad at 21 years old so suddenly. It has given me and my family so much happiness for people to be coming out of the woodwork and extending their love and gratitude to us during this time, especially people who have experienced happy moments with my dad. I will always be my daddy's little girl, and he will always be my twin.
If you are interested in coming to the wake and funeral, the wake is on Wednesday at Malloy Funeral Home from 5-8pm in West Hartford, CT, and the funeral is on Thursday from 10-11:30 at St. Thomas The Apostle Church in West Hartford, following a military ceremony and reception in his honor.
Donations will be taken in his honor for a music scholarship to Conard High School.
