I didn't see anyone else post this and I just found out. It's with a heavy heart that I have to let you know @MarkKotyla passed away Friday. I knew Mark for a very long time and he will be sorely missed. Below are two posts from his family on Facebook: Mark's wake will be at Molloy's Funeral Home, 906 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford on Wednesday, 5:00-8:00. Funeral with Military Honors will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 872 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford. Reception in the Parish Center to follow. Note: parking for the funeral will be available on Outlook Rd, Robin Road, Dover Road and the Beth David Synagogue parking lot. Cassidy & I are in the process of establishing a Music Scholarship at Conard HS in Mark Kotyla memory. Donations in lieu of flowers can also be made to St Thomas the Apostle Church Capital Campaign Fund / Mark Kotyla's Memorial Fund. We would like to create a flower garden in his memory. ---- Friday night at around 9:30pm, right around the time it started to thunder, the world gained a new angel. I would like to believe the angels were crying. Words cannot describe the pain in my heart, the hole that exists solely because my dad is no longer with us, and the sorrow it feels to lose your dad at 21 years old so suddenly. It has given me and my family so much happiness for people to be coming out of the woodwork and extending their love and gratitude to us during this time, especially people who have experienced happy moments with my dad. I will always be my daddy's little girl, and he will always be my twin. If you are interested in coming to the wake and funeral, the wake is on Wednesday at Malloy Funeral Home from 5-8pm in West Hartford, CT, and the funeral is on Thursday from 10-11:30 at St. Thomas The Apostle Church in West Hartford, following a military ceremony and reception in his honor. Donations will be taken in his honor for a music scholarship to Conard High School.

We heard this very sad news while the 90 Minds Board was meeting in Denver. Our heart goes out to his wife and daughter, family and friends. We are all richer from having Mark as a member of 90 Minds and struck by how fragile life is and how quickly it come to an end. @MoiraGoggin @JimWoodhead @JerryNorman @JeffSchwenk @RobertWood @JohnHoyt

Mark was a founding 90 Minds member from the inception of Sageresellers on Yahoo Groups. His company, Giving Tree Consulting is based in West Hartford CT and is a branch office of DSD Business Systems. He was an avid sailor and would almost always bring his wife and daughter with him on trips to Sage conferences. He had a great knack for letting the pressures of everyday business roll off his back and focusing on his customers. I hope in the coming weeks if there is a technical need or two that we could pitch in until his wife can get the business stabilized.

This is so sad. I read somewhere that they want to build a garden in his honor. Does anyone know how we can donate to that?

We received some additional details from Mark's wife earlier this week regarding the family's wishes..... In Lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to the following: The family is in the process of establishing a scholarship fund for music at his daughter, Cassidy's former high school. Checks can be made out to ""In Memory of Mark Kotyla"" and sent to the family. Donations can also be made to St. Thomas the Apostle Church where a memorial garden in memory of Mark will be created. Cards may be sent to Chantal Kotyla: 29 Glenbrook Road West Hartford, CT 06107
