    I can't get the Use Lockfile check box to stay checked after having run Pl_advancedoptions_ui for a client who was having issues with cross-emails (SO Register got sent to a client instead of an invoice). I manually created Jobs and Locks keys. Still shows as unlocked.

    Have you tried setting the permissions for the Software key (just above those keys) to Full Control for Users? Had the same come up this morning.

    OK, so I did that, but this is a terminal server and I'm not sure it does any good. It was fine under my login, still does not have permissions under client's.

    It's actually heading downhill at client's - Sage printer does not show up under her name and if she runs PL_Advanced, it will not create it.

    The use lockfile setting should be per company code, so in theory you should be able to set it from the Sage server using an admin login. If IT has put in restrictive permissions blocking the PDF converter... my sympathies. I've had that battle too many times to count.

    Don't we want to delete lock keys, rather than create them? You probably have the 5 ways to install the PDF converter KB. Also, I have been told that the user may need a certain level of security on that printer once it's installed. All in all sounds like some rights issues. I was just doing this today and I noticed this note about term servers . 5.Ensure that the Sage PDF Converter key is present and has 39 values associated with it. If there are no values or if there is only one value that shows ""REG_SZ"", Uninstall then Reinstall the Sage PDF Converter on the Terminal Server. 6.If the Registry key is still not present after reinstalling the Converter, contact Sage Customer Support to provide a copy of it for you, or export it from a working workstation under the same location (HKCC/Software) then import it onto the Terminal Server

    Argh, this is a mess. Working with IT, we had to elevate one user to have Admin rights on the terminal server in order for pl_advanced to finally show the Paperless as installed (not just registered). A printer finally showed up. HOWEVER if anyone tried to use this printer, it just ran forever. I logged into the same TS, saw a printer there, and had a print job to paperless complete in seconds. We've finally decided to reboot the TS once we can get everyone off (about 40 users spread over 3 time zones) and pray it shapes up. And re the Lock Keys - client is having issues with crossover paperless files - I am hoping the Lock key is used by the Lock check box to keep this from happening.

    The lock key gets made when something goes wrong. So I delete them like the KB says. And any Jobs keys as well. Disclaimer - there's some other random reason that you want to leave the lock files box checked in Paperless but I forget what scenario it helps with. In general, I uncheck it for nearly everyone.

    Well, we didn't have any in the first place - would have been nice if that meant nothing was going to go wrong! :-)

    On a related note the Microsoft W10 1803 update is conveniently stepping on the registry entries for paperless. have had to run the Pl_AdvancedOptions_UI to restore paperless for 3 or 4 customers now.
