I believe this had been discussed before but I can

I believe this had been discussed before but I can't find it here, in the Sage KB or my Evernote. Customer is on Sage 100 2014 - they want me to start using their Terminal Sever. There's no icon on my local login to the TS. So I run workstation install. Which says there already is an install so I select reinstall for the wksetup. Nothing changes. No added icon. I'm pretty sure this is a known issue but my searches so far have come up blank. Solution?

Adv or Std? If standard, just take a Std icon from your desktop and paste. Change the pathing to local access. Should run

I don't see an icon in the RDP session. No icon on their desktop and I was previously accessing a standalone workstation using GotoAssist so I don't have access to much. I'm pretty sure this was discussed within 12 months. I just can't find the conversation.

If there was previously an install and someone deleted the icon and/or the Sage entry on Start/Programs, it won't be recreated on a reinstall. You'll need to uninstall and reinstall.

Run in MAS90 mode for today till users are off tonight?

I'm not sure it's going to be that easy on a remote session. I get a warning of other users in the system. My fear is that I suddenly get a panic call that 12 other remote users can't get Sage to start.

That version doesn't let you 'reinstall/repair' - you have to uninstall and install again.

I agree with Jeff to copy from someplace else (other user profile, your own machine, etc). I found this happens if the same folder name already exists on the start list, it won't add the shortcut

I have had users delete their icons. Went through the same hoops Wayne is experiencing. as I said, I just found a M90 icon (usually my desktop), copied it to my TS desktop, change the pathing and life was good.

The customer told me they always have this problem when setting up a new user. I went with Jeff's original suggestion and copied the Sage icon from the old workstation into an accessible folder. Then from the TS machine, I copied the icon to the desktop and it seems to work.

Perhaps the original install was not done in Admin mode or someone wiped out the icon. You could try locating the Sage install folder (C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Sage) and put the icon there as well.

Wayne - since you ran the reinstall (which wipes out anything in Programs\Sage, did you uninstall from Add/Remove Programs and then run wksetup again? In 2013 - 2015 or so, a Repair didn't work, so you have to uninstall from add/remove and start over.

I didn't uninstall. When I started to go that route the system prompted that other users were logged into the terminal server. So I canceled out. I copied the icon from the old desktop which appeared to work.

Right-click on the desktop - New - Shortcut. Set the target and path according to what is appropriate for their system (using other shortcuts for that version as a template).

Make sure to put the shortcut in both, C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Sage and C:\Users\Public\Desktop this will make sure all the users can see the shortcut once you find it.
