I am working with a client who has the basic Sage MAS Intelligence installed on there system. The current version they are using is 1.00.0177. They would like to add different views and link different files than what comes with the basic installation. My question (and theirs) is the only way to do this to use the ""Connection Manager?"" That module is not part of the ""give away"" and requires an extra license.

Before you start down that rat hole of no return, take a big picture view of the situation. Do you REALLY want to invest in SMI??? Have you looked at BizNet or other packages (Renovo??)? Long term, setting them up in an easier package to learn and use might be the wisest move.

Jeff, I suspect that BizNet might be the better solution. I just want to make sure that linking files to create queries is not available in the basic SMI Report Manager. Personally, I can use MS query, Crystal, etc. to extract data. The customer just wants a simple query tool that they can understand.

Someone mentioned once that you could create a view at your office using the Connection manager and then install it at the client. Not sure if this is true or not, but might be an option. Off course, why go to all of this trouble if Biznet is an option. Queries are a great way to extract data but the GL structure is difficult to work with.
