I am working on a demo for a lead. Originally they wanted a report to track component lot numbers to the finished products in Bill of Materials. On Friday they decided they would need Work Order for processing orders instead. Of course the final demo is this Wednesday! I can already created a report from BOM, but I am struggling reproducing in WO. I have attched the Crystal Report and resulting report from BOM. Can anyone help me figure out how to create this report for WO? I worked on it this weekend and am totally lost! Thanks.

The information you need is in the WOO (Transaction History) table. The Material Issue records are Type 2 for Component Item & Lot No. The Completion records are Type 7 for the FG Item, Lot, Qty, and Production Date. If you design the report to group on WO No. You should be able to do formulas and summarize or running total to get just the record types needed. Subreports could also help, but they do not export well if they want to put the final output into Excel.

Thanks for the info. However, I do not find an component lot numbers in the table. When I browse on the Lot # field I only see finished goods lot numbers. Any suggestions?

Look at the ACS enhancement for lot control. You can download a demo. If they are using WO chances are you will want to quote the ACS MFG efficiency package anyway.

If you are using demo data, then you may not see lot transactions in WOO. Create a few transactions of your own with lot components. The demo data isn't complete, and therefore you have to create some of it through updates to populate all the tables.
