When I think of HTI, an image of an ogre (not Shrek) comes to mind.

How'd you find that, @WayneSchulz? And it doesn't appear to be referenced/linked to off their Home page.

I have Google Alerts setup and I think I received an alert on the keyword ""sage software

Which is why you never cross Wayne. He has ""google alerts"" on all of us. :P

@WayneSchulz - when did that alert come through? My guess is that once the swk deal was known, this post went up and it makes no mention of HTI.

@MikeFitzgerald No it was a day or two ago. I'd seen it a couple times. The most recent was yesterday. I'm also never betting against you in ANY Sage rumor ever again !! ;-)

Press reports about 280 users and that SWK will take on the IP as well. We shall see how accurate that is ultimately. @MarkChinsky

I read the Headers on the email. This definitely came from Hightower's servers

  • 27.  RE: I am told that tomorrow a deal (will) -- could be

    Posted 03-23-2012 09:12
    Just got it too.

This could be good fodder against saas and subscription competitors...what happens when publisher goes bellyup. You are dead in the water. With Saas, you are instantly dead in the water Doesn't Hightower's keys expire if you don't pay maintenance? I know var keys do

  • 29.  RE: I am told that tomorrow a deal (will) -- could be

    Posted 03-23-2012 09:29
I was thinking the same thing @MarkChinsky.

At least the 4.30 version of POS did not expire, because I've got a client who was off maintenance who just recently (with my encouragement - I think I'll just go lay my head on the railroad tracks now) renewed after a long lapse.
