I am looking to crowdsource a ""boilerplate ""so what's new"" reply for customers. During the upgrade process of quoting to implementing I find that I don't have the slightest clue on a version-by-version basis what has been added to Sage 100. I have a broad idea but I couldn't rattle off at which version which feature was added My idea is to create a template that I can copy/paste to a customer during the quote process which gives 4 top features for each release. I find that 1/2 the customers are just curious and I think the other 1/2 just want to test me to see if I can rattle some new features off the top of my head which would justify them spending $$ to upgrade. I have the template for versions 4.4 to 2016 along with links to the respective PDF documents in Dropbox which a customer could click and download. I also have a link to the SPM for 2016 for both Standard and Advanced. If you are interested in helping to make this an even better boilerplate reply please email me and we can work on the template. Anyone who contributes can have a copy to use for their own customers.

I wonder whether it makes more sense to order the list by module or by version. Right now I have it by version but in most cases, people probably scan it by their area of job responsibility.

I would be thrilled to contribute. Please email to kolane@asifocus.com. I had created new feature docs by module that covered versions 4.50 through 2014, as I found that most people are interested by area of job responsibility. Do you want me to send those to you, or just see where I can incorporate them into what you have started?

Have a look at this starting document - it's by no means done. Once I've added everyone I will send around an email on where we go with it.

AS you look at the document - make your edits as suggestions. This means changing the option in the upper right corner. Then as you propose edits you can highlight the edit and type in your change. It makes it easier to see the changes and with one click we can make them live.

I will participate with @KarenOLane as I have also created something in the past to share with customers.

You are welcome to use what I had collected over the version and posted a few months ago for my clients... http://www.accounting-tech.com/#!Key-Features-in-the-latest-Sage-100-Releases/mhqg1/565af49e0cf296b209017ef6

Thank you Larry - this is almost exactly what I'm looking to provide to customers. Ideally, I want a quick list of memorized items to use during face-to-face and a list that I can send via email. We will definitely incorporate these. I find that the most universal ""ooh"" and ""aah"" tend to be around expanding any type of field capacity - customer, vendor, item numbers have usually made customers feel as if ""they are getting something"".

I think some of this list may have been modified version from others. I have found part of the reason users are not updating is because there is not a CD sitting on the corner of their desk staring back at them.

I feel like I haven't pushed the regular upgrade enough. I'd like to get customers upgrading annually and I think I could make more money charging less per upgrade but doing them every year. If a customer pays $8,000 every 6 years for an upgrade then I think charging $2,500 additional per year to maintain and upgrade their system is almost 2x the revenue over 6 years. Other things that I'm resigned to including: - After hours upgrade, testing (people like this) - Managing the installation of product updates - Managing the installation of tax tables All the above happens with an unattended connection

I was considering a two option package. Yearly upgrade or alternating upgrade/knowledge transfer annually.

There is a big benefit to having a regular upgrade, (I'll add it to the doc @WayneSchulz) - all the customer's data files and sorts are rebuilt, that means they are getting a regular 'tune-up' with their upgrade.
