I am having a problem with a Payroll Data Entry im

I am having a problem with a Payroll Data Entry import. The file has the hours in column 2 and the earnings code in column 3. Good so far. The issue is that tips are in column 7 and the tips earnings code is in column 8. I have tried various temp fields to bring in column 7 and 8 but can't get the import to work properly. Also tried changing the ""Execute On"" without success. What am I missing? Thanks.

What is in column 8 if there is an earnings code in column 3? And vice versa?

I've done this doing chained VI - first pass reads 3, second pass reads 7, skip if blank

It looks like this. The data is on one line. 11-0000100,40,01,,,,7.5,05 (Employee #, Hours, Earnings Code, blanks, Tip $, Tip earnings code) Can this be done in one pass or should I do two?

Has to be 2 if it will be creating 2 lines in Payroll.

Thanks everyone. BTW, the Preconfigured Payroll Import Jobs from Sage are a joke.

Is this out of a time clock system? If so, is there any way to modify THAT export to output one earnings code per line. I know with TimeClock Plus, that is an option

This is from Time Clock Plus and their consultant said the export couldn't be modified to put tips on a separate line. All other earnings are on a separate line, the tips are the problem.

We tried the options that came with the software (Macabe, Macabe2, MAS90level410 and MAS90).

And tips were not treated as an earnings code in the export?? WOW

The consultant had the tips classified as an ""Other"" since they are $$ and not hours.

If you purchased the MAS90 (SAGE100) Payroll interface, I would thing that TC+ would be obligated to fix the export since the export is explicitly written for Sage. Try calling TC+ 800-749-8463, talk to either Mike Bowman X 7614 Senior Account Executive or Angela Jackson X 7633. The import file worked flawlessly for me but my customers didn't have to deal with tips.
