I added a third tab to the budget for MOTM so that

I added a third tab to the budget for MOTM so that we could accumulate people who we may want to invited to the social events. I am thinking these might be Sage people or others who most in the group would know but would otherwise not be attending the event. Let's not add anyone who is a potential vendor member but declined to join. Please add any names that come to mind. This does not mean that each (or any) person is going to get an invite. Just an way to gather a list in case we want to invite some people to the social events. https://docs.google.com/a/community.90minds.com/spreadsheets/d/1CW2AeO7MM0kKQ-SxvWZTyvoST8QC0LEmQi1eEAFxBv4/edit?usp=sharing

Are you expecting them to pay their way?

No that's why I'm looking at a list to see if we have people we want to invite as guests of 90 Minds. I can't recall last year but I know we invited Erica, Bill Kizer. Neither of them went on the event but they did show up. I'm not sure how many people we had that came to the event and went on the boat or attended dinner. Just a thought. I think it would be interesting to invite some of the Sage people that we interact with.

I think Donald Deshaies might be one to consider. In general, I'm torn because I think we offer a lot of valuable access and information for Sage and feel that they should pay for that privilege. On the other hand, we serve our members and it would be a huge value for members to interact with some Sage bigwigs throughout the conference. Some of the members will never get this opportunity in the normal course of business so it is a nice opportunity to offer it during MotM. I'm really on the fence on this one. What does everyone else think - specifically about Sage people not other third-party players?

    Same thoughts here

I see interactivity between 90 Minds and Sage as potentially having mutual benefits.

As discussed during our MOTM planning session, getting Sage to the event does add value. They can interact with our membership and we can rough them up a bit. Send a message. Would be nice to get blood out of that turnip though. Overall, a big benefit to the membership.

I am opposed to 90 Minds serving as a free BPAC for Sage (which was a path that Sage at one point seemed to be wondering about). If anyone in 90 Minds wants to serve for free - nominations are open. If anyone wants to sit and chew the fat with Sage and offer them suggestions on improving their channel/product/marketing - let them head to Irvine as some members are already doing. Sage is also available during their conferences. That's the time for us to organize a Sage get together. Lets not burn up our conference time rehashing group meetings that some of us have been in 15-20 times previously. Sage has directly and clearly been offered an opportunity to become involved with our group (for a fee) as they do with various other groups including TPAC, ITA, Sleeter, and numerous CPA events. They declined. Sage declined to contribute financially to our group. They said no (either directly or by inaction). If Sage will supply a speaker for ""Road Ahead"" or one or two other technical sessions where they clearly add value then that's fine by me. Speaker comes in. Speaks. Done. As for any type of open session to potentially advise Sage on what they've done wrong with the channel - let them pay us or pay an outside consulting firm big (big) $$. I am fine with some of the everyday (non-exec) Sage people socializing as guests. As to inviting the VP and up level people I guess I circle back to: ""Sage has directly and clearly been offered an opportunity to become involved with our group (for a fee) as they do with various other groups including TPAC, ITA, Sleeter, etc. They declined. Sage declined to contribute to our group. "" To go back to Sage now and say - ok well we were just kidding about needing to join - come on down and dominate our social and educational event -- my vote is no.

I think if we invited some of the Sage people like Donald Deshaies for example they would see what a dynamic group we have and would likely want to be more involved. As Peter said it is an opportunity for them to talk to them our member. I think it would allow our members to bitch for example about the portal and KB debacle . A lot our member aren't the ones going to Summit so for them it could be useful. my .02 cents.

I definitely think that Deborah Nelson or Diane Coffman could do a great demo of 2015 in the road ahead. It will likely be released the following month.

Invite the Sage folks to the Thursday evening social to mingle with the group. This will give Sage an idea of how big the event has gotten and give the membership some face time with some higher ups. It is a benefit to the members. I have been to Summit many times over and have never gotten any face time with anyone outside the trade show staff. Bring a technical person down for a look at v2015. As Jim indicated, it should be out to the VIP beta testers by then. Invite them on our terms, our agenda.....
