I actually think the subscription pricing at $99 may be helpful for us to get some long lapsed customers back onto plan. I am counting on $ 0 recurring margin and a minimum consulting upgrade fee in the $7,500 range.

Oh and there's a fee to generate a quote and help wade through pricing options for anyone who is not a current/past customer. I'm presently charging $500 which i will credit but not waive for those people wanting to know ""what arre our options"". I've done way too many free proposals in the past to keep guiding customers through the maze only to have them buy from other VARS.

Yes ... one thing that was told to me in my meeting with Joe, Tom and Steve was that this should help get lapsed customers back on plan. I hope those lapsed customers figure out that if they get back in, they can't get back out without the software be turned off. I would stay lapsed.

Some of these folk are at 3.x and frankly there's very few other software products in the ERP space (including QuickBooks) that do not lock you out if you either don't renew or upgrade.
