    Posted 08-11-2020 12:12
Customer just upgraded from 2017 to 2019 Sage 100 Advanced.  Now email delivery is failing.  They were pointing directly to the O365 MX record with no authentication.  Now authentication is required.  If I use my O365 email we can send ok.  Question is, where in O365 do we set our rules or access. I feel like there's a setting for annonymous user or someting in O365 that needs attention.  Any other input appreciated.

We sometimes get around issues like this by enabling SMTP on the server and then restricting the right to send mail to the server's IP address. Then you just set the reply address to whatever you want and no one is the wiser. One downside is that you do not get a record of what was sent in Office 365, but if you can live with that a local SMTP server can be a simple solution.

This is what I have in my notes for making O365 work when authenticating as 1 user but wanting to send as another:
In O365 Admin Center, go to 'From' Email user, Mail Tab, Send On Behalf, Add Permissions, Select Authenticating User & Save.
    Wait 60 mn to propagate.

Is this what you were looking for?

We can't even get the default Company Settings Email to go successfully.  That's the issue at the moment. Can't wait to get to who can 'send as'

You can consider setting up an SMTP Relay. The article below is for setting up emailing on Multi-Function Devices, but can apply for Sage as well. (See Option 3)

Thanks ALL!  Really good stuff here.  Turns out an expired cert was raising most of our issues.  IT was great, once we got the right 'talent' in the mix.
