http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/cio-insights/apple-iphone-5-guaranteed-to-disappoint/39749307?tag=nl.e550&s_cid=e550 I have to say, if the iphone 5 turns out to be close to the supply chain rumor mill, I'll be 'ho hum.'. Sure the fan boys will line up overnight, the product will be sold out for a few weeks, Apples Stock will continue to soar, but... Really, a .5"" screen boost (still .8"" smaller than Galaxy S3), LTE-yay, camera tweeks, new dock connector,) etc. Unless there is a huge new hardware design/feature under wraps, it brings the iphone to about the level of the October 2011 Galaxy Nexus. Either way, IOS continues to look dated to me. Even Android has seen alot of tiny improvements, but the same pile of icon design. I have to say, Windows 8, without ever touching it, looks damn cool. Especially combined with awesome looking Nokia phones. Way cooler than any iphone in terms of design cues. Anybody disagree?

iphone 5 comment : ""new dock connector"" = repurchase all your accessories. No thanks. I don't buy anything that doesn't use standard connectors. Windows 8 comment: ""without ever touching it"" - I strongly suspect the lipstick will come off once you touch it.

My daughter has WP -- and I used the same phone for about 2 months. The UI is very nice but the absence of apps that you've grown accustomed to on iOS is a deal killer.

What are some of the key apps? I've found I only use about 10%_of the apps loaded on my s3

I'm not at all excited by the new iPhone 5 leaks though I have found ""Find My Friends"" is great to use with the kids as well as iMessage so you can tell they got your text.

It's actually a lot more than you think -- there are apps for Facebook, Foursquare and Twitter but they're like one and done -- not very polished. i think in some cases third parties may have even created them. That being said this Windows Phone looks way cool - if the reviews are 75% positive and there's no battery or signal problems (two deal breakers) I'll be in for one.
